REDLANDS - Mary and Joseph had to traverse Cajon Street and Olive Avenue before finding a resting place Saturday. Seven Redlands churches organized the first joint Las Posadas, a Hispanic tradition that recreates Mary and Joseph's search for a room in Bethlehem.
Two Arrested After Early Morning Police Chase
REDLANDS - Police arrested two people early Monday morning after a high-speed chase that ended in a San Bernardino neighborhood. Police attempted to over a 2004 Saturn with tinted windows just before 1 a.m. Monday near the intersection of Texas Street and Colton Avenue. The driver led police on a chase through residential streets, running several red lights before entering the freeway, according to Redlands city spokesman Carl Baker.
Redlands Police Arrest Eight Drivers in Holiday Dui Crackdown
REDLANDS - Police arrested eight drivers for driving under the influence - including two drunken drivers who crashed into each other - during a holiday DUI checkpoint Friday night and Saturday morning. Redlands Police conducted the checkpoint in the eastbound lanes of Redlands Boulevard at Alabama Street in front of Lowes, beginning at 10:30 p.m. Friday. The checkpoint was funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety.

REDLANDS - David and Tricia Kelly festooned their store window with books this year. The Kellys, who own denM on East State Street, got old books from the A.K. Smiley Public Library and the Crafton Hills College library. Their employees folded them into ornaments and decorations, which hung in the windows and inside the store.
