Summary
Over the years there are people who make a difference in Redlands, and when they move away, we feel that difference, that loss.
Such a person is Joan Dotson, who moved in October to Long Beach to be with family, but left Redlands a 32-year history of art in public places, including five sculptures. Those five pieces then inspired the Redlands Cultural Arts Commission in the late 1980s to bring more public sculpture to town.See the full content of this document

An Artistic Legacy
Dotson served eight years on the Redlands Planning Commission where she was in a hands-on position to develop public art for Redlands and develop in residents an appreciation for what art does for the community and the individual spirit.
She personally was responsible for these works of art:"Fruitful Pause" by Gerry Berg, designed by Roger L.
