Summary
The National Trust Main Street Center, a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, announced that applications for the 2006 Great American Main Street Awards and the 2006 Main Street Leadership Awards are now available. Communities, individuals, businesses and organizations that have achieved outstanding success in historic commercial district revitalization efforts may qualify for the 2006 Great American Main Street Awards and nominate leaders for the 2006 Main Street Leadership Awards. Winners will be nationally recognized during the 2006 National Main Streets Conference April 2 to 5, 2006.
Every year, the Great American Main Street Awards recognize five communities for their achievement in commercial district revitalization. Winners receive a $2,500 prize to further their revitalization efforts, a bronze plaque, two road signs commemorating their achievements and other items.The Main Street Leadership Awards are presented to key civic, business and individual leaders who have demonstrated outstanding support of community revitalization efforts.See the full content of this document
