Festival's Third Season of School Outreach Begins

Summary

Mythical fairies, star-crossed lovers and Roman conspirators are preparing for a busy season of presentations at schools in the Inland Empire as part of the Redlands Shakespeare Festival's outreach program. Now in its third year, the program has conducted presentations at more than 20 schools and festival company members have performed for more than 12,000 students.

The school assembly programs are designed for students from third through 12th grade. The school programs feature Steven Sabel, artistic director of the Redlands Shakespeare Festival, and several company actors presenting scenes from plays in the upcoming season. The actors also discuss specific characters and plot elements, as well as basic theatrical principles. Question-and-answer sessions with students follow presentations.
