REDLANDS - Once you looked past the venue there was nothing hokey about the opening of the Redlands Civic Light Opera. From start to finish this was a professional presentation of "Man of La Mancha." It offered all you could expect from a first-rate performance from the stage design to the lights to the acting to even a few opening night glitches.
The first showing of "Man of La Mancha" was presented to a modest crowd Thursday evening at the Clock Auditorium on the Redlands High School campus. The venue was a bit of a put-off with its old and uncomfortable furnishings, homely decor and sound-killing construction, but the performers rose above the surroundings and did their best with what the second-rate venue had to offer.See the full content of this document
