I would like to thank Scott Klemm ("The real issue is the moral authority of the Bible itself," March 22) for reiterating what I had said in my previous letter. He makes a point of the scriptures I quoted being largely ritual and not to be taken literal, which was the point I was making regarding the scripture the Rev. Don Wallace quoted. Of course, he also stated that I was "taking Revs. Wallace and (Eugene) Paulus to task" as if I had some malicious purpose.

I simply stated my opposing and scripturally educated view, which is no different than any other person who writes in to state a viewpoint. It shouldn't degrade into a vitriolic diatribe as it so often seems to do. Opinions are just that and no opinion is definitively correct or incorrect in regards to scripture. Now let's all just keep these letters in the spirit for which they were intended - an open forum for the exchange of ideas.
