Summary
An exhibit of fans from the San Bernardino County Museum s historical costume collections A Fan in the Hand, will run through April 15 and is free with museum admission.
Hand fans have been used for centuries as an accessory for formal dress, as a way to create a breeze, to protect your face, as a souvenir, and even to communicate secretively. Fans come in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and materials, and have their own set of terms used to describe them. The exhibit will feature fans from the Victorian era, turn-of-the-century and Art Deco, promotional hand- screens, and exotic souvenir fans.See the full content of this document
