Talk about clueless! It's not about whether they deserve it. We're $5.5 million short. And counting. But the reasoning is almost Orwellian. Most vendors will renegotiate in these times because they know that someone else will do the job for less.

Soliciting savings from your vendors is part of the job; it's not heroics. How about this for morale boosting: Do your job well and you get to keep it.
