The Redlands Conservancy didn't start out in 1994 working to conserve land, but by the mid-2000s, the need to advocate citrus grove and canyon land conservation became urgent as grove after grove was bulldozed to make way for development.
Board members agreed that the city's natural setting of hills and canyons and the hundreds of acres of lush citrus groves defined Redlands as much as the historic buildings, and moved to form the Land Trust Cabinet, a committee to work on land conservation.See the full content of this document
