If nine players of a ball team are on the field, but no one ever comes up to bat, can there be a baseball game? Now the batter isn't the whole ball game; other players are necessary. But can there be a ball game without a batter?
In such a situation, there could be baseball activity, but not a baseball game. And without the intended consummation of our differently designed bodies, there can be a loving relationship, but not a marriage. Although I don't agree with them, there can be "civil unions" between two people of the same sex who truly have an affection for one another.
