Editor's note: The Redlands Unified School District board recently settled on naming a new middle school in Loma Linda after either Ben Barton, the first doctor in the valley who established a school in his home on what is now Barton Road, or Anson Van Leuven, a Mormon settler who grew up in Loma Linda and is credited with planting the first citrus tree here.

The school board has decided to name the school after Barton. However, before that, students at Bryn Mawr Elementary in Loma Linda weighed in on the decision. Here are their answers.
