Summary
A couple of weeks ago, what started out as a leisurely drive to the desert ended up in a more nostalgic place for me, the General Patton Memorial Museum, near the Chiriaco Summit (in name only because it is not much of a climb to get there, unless you are walking), on Chiriaco Road, off Interstate 10, 30 miles east of Indio.
Anyway, while occasionally I saw flowers in bloom along the freeway, the infrequent spots of color did little to relieve the boring view of redundant cactus. However, I pressed on because I have seen the movie "Patton" at least a hundred times, and I was curious to see if the museum would add any support to both the movie and my understanding of the general.See the full content of this document
